ARTICLE 17 - COACHES AND MANAGER DUTIES

SECTION 1

  1. The Coach shall be responsible for the conduct of their team at all games and other hockey related events.
  2. The Coach is responsible for all sweaters and equipment issued to them and is required to return any and all sweaters and equipment to the Association at the end of the hockey season or at such time as the return is requested by his Divisional Director or the Equipment Director.
  3. Shall give 14 days notice to his/her Director of intentions to participate in any exhibition game or tournaments.
  4. Shall be a member of the Associations Fund-raising Committee.
  5. Shall ensure that their team will participate in the Annual Association Fund-raising.
  6. Shall when wishing to raise funds for their own teams use, put such a request in writing for approval by the Executive Committee.
  7. Shall notify the Divisional Director of any intentions to make player changes or moves.
  8. Shall report to the Registrar through his/her League Director when any player has missed three consecutive games.
  9. Shall endeavor to inform the parent or guardians of an injury to a player.
  10. Shall report any incidents to the Executive through his/her Director.

SECTION 2

REFEREE IN CHIEF DUTIES

  1. (a) Shall appoint an Assistant Referee in Chief annually to assist him/her in all areas.

(b) Shall submit register of all Association Referees/Officials.

(c) Shall schedule and coordinate all game and minor officials for all activities of the Association.

(d) Shall organize and/or conduct an annual in house training clinic for all game and minor officials to provide the opportunity to upgrade their qualifications and improve their skills and effectiveness.

(e) Shall review the performance of all Association game and minor officials and submit performance appraisals to the President annually.

(f) Shall conduct a seminar annually to provide all Association coaches, officials and Directors with interpretation of new rules as well rules that have changed.

(g) Shall provide assistance, advice and guidance in officiating matters to Directors and the Association in general.

(h) Shall attend a minimum of five (5) games per week during the season in a non-officiating capacity with intent to monitor the effectiveness skill and competency of Association game and minor officials.

(i) Shall work within the budget guidelines as determined by the Executive.

SECTION 2(2)

HONORARIUM

  1. The Referee in Chief and the Assistant Referee in Chief may be paid an Honorarium in an amount as determined from time to time by the Executive.
