CALGARY – Hockey
Canada’s National Women’s Team head coach and general manager Melody Davidson announced the 47 top Canadian U18
female hockey players to converge on Calgary from May 22-25, 2008 for a strength, conditioning and skating camp. Halifax
Hawks’ very own Jillian Saulnier is one of the 47 players invited to the camp. Players invited to this strength
and conditioning/skating camp were selected by Melody Davidson and Hockey Canada’s regional scouts in cooperation with
club teams and Hockey Canada’s 13 member branches. The 47 players will be put through fitness testing
and skating drills over the course of the four-day camp at the Father David Bauer Olympic Arena in Calgary. Hockey Canada
will also use the camp as an opportunity to get to know the players and give them off-ice training techniques, as well as
proper nutritional guidance. Using the 2007-08 on-ice evaluation, Hockey Canada officials will make their selections
for a July U-18 camp, which will lead to selections for Team Canada’s Women’s U-18 Team for the 2008-09 season.
Good luck, Jillian!
